Living in NYC quarters can be close – in grocery stores, on the streets, in your apartment – but you get used to it and it becomes the norm.

Here are a few shots of the work-in-progress:

 I began with a sketch on a thin background of reds, orange and yellow.

(Originally there were three fish)

The layers begin to build with the addition of blues and white.
