Art must be experienced in person for full effect. I’ll never forget the first time I ran my fingers across the surface of a lusciously impasto  Picasso with awe at what I had been missing studying the works of my predecessors from photographs alone.

The pieces I create are best viewed in person as well – the play of light across them causes change and movement in a variety of ways depending on the setting.

Natural light and shadow give a gradated effect in this shot.  Upon close-quarter viewing, the reflective surfaces pick up tones from the viewer and mirror them back subtly.
